With “Héroïne” Mélinée releases a second, intimate album, influenced by rock and pop and the sounds of the Malinké. When listening to it you enter an acoustic universe of refined arrangements, with guitar, double bass, cello, piano and, of course, accordion accompaniment. A special highlight is the balafon, played by virtuoso Aly Keïta.

Mélinée once again speaks about love – always with Berlin as the setting – but also addresses some universal themes such as absence, waiting and alcohol, a brief digression into politics … and then a humorous portrait of her uncle. Mélinée’s writing is distinct, poetic, lyrical – a melancholic atmosphere underpinned by the singer’s warm voice.

Tonight with Jonathan Bratoëff on the guitar and Carmelo Leotta on the double bass.
